I have been debating this week, about spending my next pay check on either a new Camera (Nikon Coolpix p6000) or on a mirror tv. Now really I don’t have a camera at the moment so for the sake of drinking and taking pics of my car I should go for that over the fancy flat screen.

I SHOULD but its so tempting to get a tv thats hidden by a mirror – its like the ultimate gadget for me, I could then put my plasma in the bedroom – but sensibly I suppose I don’t need 2 huge tv’s in my house.
What to do – what to do?

I have recently been spending more and more time on my single speed bike (otherwise called a fixed gear bike.) Its essentially the same as most of your average bikes except theres no freewheeling – its all constant pedaling, but in a good way. Think track bike cycling meets urban environements – I found some bike porn which made me start this phase off again – I used to ride fixies when I was much younger but hadn’t got on one for years.

Couriers sometimes use them too – thats where they started being used in cities I think! long live the awesome fixed gears tho – its so neat for doing tricks and speed towning.

In the following review of CS (not the original one i was looking for) it seems they have gone crazy for the term:

Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter in which players join either the terrorist or counter-terrorist team (or becomes a spectator). Each team attempts to complete their mission objective and/or eliminate the opposing team. Each round starts with the two teams spawning simultaneously, usually at opposite ends of the map from each other. A player can choose to play as one of eight different default character models (four for each side, although Counter-Strike: Condition Zero added two extra models, bringing the total to ten). Players are generally given a few seconds before the round begins (known as “freeze time”) to prepare and buy equipment, during which they cannot attack or walk/move (a player can still take damage, having the player drop from a certain height during freeze time was the only way somebody could control the players starting “HP”). They can return to the buy area within a set amount of time to buy more equipment (some custom maps included neutral “buy zones” that could be used by both teams). Once the round has ended, surviving players retain their equipment for use in the next round; players who were killed begin the next round with the basic default starting equipment.

cs2 is what I was searching for not a comical abuse of the term!

Looking at some photo’s has knocked me back into a time warp this avo, Seeing some images that take me back to the 1990’s has given me the idea to post some of what I did in the 90’s as a somewhat open view of the world.

I started out the 90’s listening to cassettes but by the end napster ruled my life and I was downloading more than I could keep on my 40gb hard disk drive. I began smoking and considerably fumed out my vw that I had for a large proportion of the decade. In fact my Volkswagen beetle was a big part of the ninety’s for me – those were the days!

Of all the cars to make into a microcar I would have thought the honda prelude would be one of the last, but the latest craze had made its way to even the older car models – it seems they have successfully released a Honda prelude rc car. And whats more its pretty damn good. I saw it over at webspheremq where they were testing about 50 different microcars out for a new promo event thats upcoming. I cant imagen which will be next to make it to the stores – I would have thought they would just focus on the new, cool and most anticipated cars, but then again maybe its a copywright issue?

Sally – what an annoying name – well the person i am talking about with that name fits the annoying pretense. I am certain this women was born just to be my arch Nemisis, she drives a revolting chevrolet and probably got strait ddds in school. She has little to no real intelect yet continues to talk trash about anyone and anything – she has no taste in cars yet assures everyone she has the best real taste in cars, despite the fact she brought her fake chevy (really its a daewoo but she wont listen) brand new and because it was so cheap she thinks she got a bargain – shame it was made by 5 goats and a child sitting around in some factory – this car has more plastic than it takes to make those giant dinosaurs you see dotted all around theme parks and suchlike – I wish she would just realise that!

In the country everyone gets called by what they do, John the Crane, Dave the brick, Simon Chippy – even car dealers have started to pick up this lingo as I met a man named perry yesterday who actually introduced himself as perry impreza – mentioning that if I ever need a Subaru Impreza he’s my man – from the turbo to the P1 he can get me covered. Whether I want to be covered or not it would seem. But what then does this archaic way of naming people leave to the people whos jobs are unfortunate. Do you really want to call Bert, Bert the coffin or Gerry, Gerry the lavatory? I suppose if it was a law then you could at least trade easier – finding an assasin would be a whole lot easier, walking into a bar and saying ‘Mr.Hitman’ could find you a suitable candidate in minutes. But I suppose then we all need fake jobs so we can fake some second Identities – If I ever get asked I might even use man-whore!!

When I was a lad I never had a motorbike, I always thought they were cool, lone-rider but with petrol -like. I don’t know if it was where I was from, my parents or just culture differences but I always had horses before motorbikes. The reason this comes to mind is my son asking for a pit bike for his birthday. They look pretty neat I have to say but it does make me a little nervous when its a 125cc engine strapped to a tiny little bike with a not so big lad. I suggested this year we just got him a nice car t shirt with a wiked rally car or biking star on it (obviously some other presents as well) rather than going for the 50mph option. Should kids really be blatting about on motorbikes at his age (11)?

Going on and on my jeep car continues to strive into the distance! I am thoroughly loving it. I brought my diesel jeep in 1994 and it has never let me down since – 140,000 miles later, a lot of things have happened in that time, a few bumps a few scrapes but this used diesel jeep just keeps on going. It has just sailed through its latest MOT with less than £50 work needed – for a car that old with nearly a quarter of a million miles on the clock.

I had a moan the other day on here about lorries. Clearly I was mistaken. Lorries are not the most annoying vehicles on the road – used tractors are in fact the honoured party that get to claim that title. It must have been yonks I was stuck behind that obnoxious little tractor bellowing smoke from its 1965 engine – Thank god for inner circulatory air conditioning. It started when I was driving around carmarthenshire looking for a specific car dealer who specialises in used cars in carms, he has usually got a pretty decent banger that I can use for my sunday races across aynot green – something under half a grand and field-worthy! He did have an excellent nova in the end – shame about the tractor but was a result!
